EJS- Maneuvering not a problem for New Sunbird yacht.

 

With a burgeoning middle class and over 9,000 miles of coastline, China's recreational boating industry has blossomed. The company's Phoenix 680 is its latest offering and incorporates Twin Disc's Express Joystick System® (EJS®) into its propulsion arrangement.

Knowing that the average customer may lack the necessary skills to maneuver a twin shaft boat, Sunbird Yacht sought a solution. When the company's executives first tried the Express Joystick System, their reaction wasn't unusual for newcomers to the EJS: they were amazed. They never thought a traditional propulsion system could operate so easily.

The Express Joystick System precisely orchestrates engines, transmissions and thrusters so users can move the boat in any direction, even pivoting it on its own axis. Using "push, twist and go" technology, maneuvering is natural and intuitive. The Twin Disc EJS provides a new level of freedom and confidence to boaters.

The 680 features a traditional sheer, within a wholly modern design. Its blackened windows contrast sharply against the white topsides, giving it an aggressive stance in the water. Twin Volvo D13s produce 800 hp at 2,300 rpm. The stylish 68' sedan cruiser features an extended flybridge and reversed transom with ample swim platform.

Founded in 2003, Sunbird Yacht Company designs and manufactures recreational and super yachts, workboats, commercial passenger vessels, and fast patrol boats. The company has sold over 10,000 vessels domestically and internationally. 

For nearly 100 years, Twin Disc has made boating more enjoyable. The company manufactures marine transmissions, joystick and electronic controls, drives, boat management systems.
